Why Nutrition is Important

Updated: Apr 13, 2024

We all know nutrition is the cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle, and plays a critical role in maintaining optimal physical and mental health. A balanced diet can help prevent chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, and also improve our energy levels and overall wellbeing.

Now days, eating a healthy balanced diet seems almost impossible. There are so many conveniences around, ordering your favourite restaurant from an app, or stopping at the vending machine on your way through the hallways in the office. There never seems like there are enough hours in the day to put together a healthy meal. We hear all the time “eat your vegetables”, “Drink more water”, but many of us feel like it is impossible to complete these simple tasks. I’ve heard all the excuses and have used most of them myself. “I’m too tired to cook”, “I can’t drink that much water or I’ll be peeing all the time”, “I don’t know how to create a meal that is healthy and tastes good”. Lucky for you I’m here to help!

So what exactly is Nutrition?

Nutrition refers to the study of how food affects the body, and how nutrients are obtained, digested, and utilized by the body. The body requires a variety of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals to function properly. These nutrients are obtained from the food we eat, and are essential for maintaining a healthy body.
