An indulgent chocolate and pecan treat perfect for your holiday dinner parties. Chocolate Chip Pecan Tarts are a simple crowd pleaser recipe. This is NOT a healthy recipe by any means, but life is all about balance and sometimes you need a good sweet pastry! I used store bought tart shells in this recipe to reduce the hassle of making the dough.
I have made these tarts for several years, and every year the family is always asking me to make them again. This recipe can easily be made into a pie if you prefer, just swap out the tart shells for a pie shell. You can also make your own pasty, I just choose not to.
Chocolate Chip Pecan Tarts
Ingredients
1 ½ cups pecan halves
1 package store-bought tart shells
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, plus more for coating chocolate chips
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
¼ cup (½ stick) salted butter, melted
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spread pecans in crust. In a small bowl, toss chocolate chips in a little flour to coat, then scatter evenly over pecans. In a medium bowl, stir together eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, butter, and flour until well combined. Pour filling over pecans and chocolate chips.
Bake until filling is set and crust is browned, about 70 minutes. (If tarts browns too quickly, loosely tent with foil.) Let cool on a wire rack at least 1 hour. Serve warm or at room temperature.
This recipe is quick and easy and a crowd pleaser for sure! Try this out for your next family function and leave a comment and let me know what you think!
Happy Baking 👩🍳
